ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

As Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy partner, Arthritis Society Canada holds a special place in our chapter. Throughout the year, our sisters raise funds and awareness through initiatives such as our annual Strike Out Arthritis event, on-campus fundraising and awareness tables, and other community-focused activities. These efforts allow us to support the millions of Canadians affected by arthritis while bringing our members together around a cause that reflects our values of service, compassion, and leadership.Supporting our local community is also an important part of who we are. Through our partnership with Waterloo Wayside, we are able to give back to those facing food insecurity and other challenges within the Waterloo region. Whether through fundraising, donations, or volunteer efforts, our sisters are committed to making a meaningful impact close to home. We are proud to support an organization that provides compassion, dignity, and essential resources to members of our community.
